With the purchase of my 1G Touch, there was a little white plastic piece (or was it clear?) that served as both a small stand for the Touch and could be pushed over the tip of the Touch's cable which connects to the computer. When purchasing my new 2G Touch, there was no such part included. Did I just miss out or do all 2Gs not include this part?

We might be getting two pieces mixed up here. I do have a white piece with a slot in it. The piece I am referring to is actually clear and slips over the end of the data cable that comes with the Touch. It's only about an inch+ long.

I know which piece you are talking about. Yes, I got one with my 1G but there wasn't one with my 2G.

No loss in my opinion, the thing was flimsy and I did not trust it to hold up my Touch as a stand. (I figured I could easily knock it over and it would naturally scratch the back of the touch just by using it, plus I could not use the stand with the case on my Touch).

That's it. What is the white piece used for? It seems to be just some sort of packaging piece, but I know it is more than that.
