I just had a client send me a video clip that is an .MPG. When I play it in Quicktime, everything looks and sounds great, but when I import it into iMovie to edit it, I lose the sound. I tried converting it to a .mov using DiVA, but I get the same thing.

Any idea what I could be doing wrong?

this happens with some mpeg formats, I usually get round it by capturing the audio with something like audio hijack & re syncing the sound back in FCP/iMovie
