Missing the Sidecar preference pane in Monterey?

As a heads up to those interested: the prefpane from Big Sur (/System/library/preferencepanes) works perfectly in Monterey. All you have to is double click on it and it offers to install it for you


for me, i use an automator script tied to a keyboard shortcut to quickly turn on sidecar so having this prefpane was useful (the control center one is a hit and miss for me)

For me the sidecar prefpane has vanished after updating to Monterey. Even the file for the prefpane is no longer there.

I've the same issue as aidler.
The Preferencepanes folders (both user and system ones) are completely empty for me.
How can we use Sidecar with macOS 12 & iPadOS 15?

You need to look into your big sur backups for those files. I could technically upload my copy but of course there's the risk of downloading some random file off the internet so...


Otherwise you can click on display and then under "Add display" click your ipad
