I don't believe that "Stockholm syndrome". I don't see why she didn't just run away when she was in the park or screamed for help when she in the grocery store in San Diego. Something is real fishy here. The police need to investigate to get to the real truth.

things like that are what make me think she hated her life at
home, and went willingly.

I can only imagine how much all this sucks for her, and how it
will change the rest of her life - negatively. :(

Maybe she was brainwashed or drugged up.

well since it was last summer i cant remember exactly so i could be wrong or mixing this up with another case. didnt they suspect the father was in it at a point and investigated his computer and found some "interesting" stuff. does anyone else remember what they found out about the father, but like i said i could be mixing this up with something else.

I never heard this. Maybe you're confusing with the JonBenet Ramsey case?

I have to disagree. I think she is a very sheltered naive kid. He was sucessful at removing her from the house. I am sure he had control over the older woman. This man must have appeared to be frighteningly powerful from her point of view. He probably told her if she ran away he would kill her and all of her family. Y'all have to keep in mind that she is a just a kid. (Although she isn't much younger than some of the posters here. I bet she is alot more innocent than you guys. ;))

im not mixing it up with that, but i will need to find some articles to back up my statement because is was so long ago. i could have swore that they gave him a polygraph and they investigated his computer and dug up some stuff.
