I tried to configure a 15” MBP today and the Vega 16 and 20 options were missing. Only the 560X was showing availabile as an upgrade. This was on the website and the App.

Does anyone know why the Vega 20 is not available? I haven’t seen anything about this online.

You trying to configure the base model? You can only select the upgrades on the 2.6/512.

That was it, thanks! It wasn't clear on my phone, but is now that I'm on my Mac.

Weird that you can upgrade the base model to the i9 but not the graphics.

Thanks again!

They want you to buy their massively overpriced storage that’s why.

It's more likely that 95%+ people who go for Vega option, want more than base storage. This way, they reduce the number of SKU's they have to maintain, which makes sense. Very few companies if any, offer all possible permutations of a given system. They create SKU's by perceived demand.

Fair Point, but also anyone spending that kind of money and buying a Vega GPU would also prefer to buy external storage for far less the price that Apple Charges. If I could I would have ordered the 2.2 i7 and Vega 20 to try to keep this thing as cool as possible.

External storage has its pros and cons - and also the speed of the internal storage Apple use are hard to match, nor are they cheap if you want something equivalent!

I was referring to like a Samsung T5 for $100 for 500 GB Storage versus $340 dollars apple charges. Yes I understand the speed different between PCIe and SATA for sure, and yes the SSDs Apple uses are ridiculously fast however given the steep price increase, its hard to justify the price difference for some people. Im way ahead of the game though I ordered the 2.6 i7, 512 SSD, 32 RAM, and Vega 20 for $2700 tax included :D
