I took the liberty of moving this post to the troubleshooting section =)

Anyone got a solution to the problem?

I need to send some files over from my desktop,
but the windows sharing option is missing:

i love replying to myself :D

Does no one have ANY suggestions besides reinstalling the whole OS which I am planning to do in a couple of hours if this isn't fix! :(

Missing Windows Sharing

Click Options and then check the box that says something like "sharing with SMB".

yes i know what you feel like when PEOPLE DONT RESPONS!!!! not even a hint dammit!!!

anyways, i was under the impression that you were able to access windows computers from mac os x, and just copy the stuff their straight away. as long as you share the folder/file and make it so that other users can edit and read it. right click on the item (this is on windows of course) and then click sharing and blabla (cant remember) that should allow you to give it a name to use on your network.

missing "windows sharing" tickbox in mac system preferences (OSX 10.7 )

I have precisley the same problem. i have been looking for a solution for hours
