I've got a weird issue when I open up mission control -- the active desktop shrinks like it should, the open apps go to their respective corners, but I can't see the open spaces across the top because about 80% of the screen, instead of reverting to the gray fabric looking background, stays with the desktop wallpaper.

Thoughts? (If I wasn't relatively new to full-time Mac user, I'd post a screen shot to explain what I'm describing).

To take a screenshot, hit Cmd+Shft+3 for full screen, or use 4 for a selected area. Attach it to your post and then we can see.

Thanks for the tip. I was searching (futilely, of course) for a print screen button. Here's the screen capture.

Very odd. Have you rebooted since this started happening?

Of course. It doesn't do it right away after a reboot, but I've not been able to isolate what actually causes it to go wonky again.
