Mission: Level - Available on the App Store

Mission: Level is a bubble-level and slope measurement app for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
It’s convenient, easy to use and designed to transform your iPhone into a professional looking bubble-level.

It’s suited for all kinds of leveling and slope measurement tasks like:
- straightening decor e.g. picture, tv, ornaments, knobs
- leveling DIY projects e.g. shelf, cabinet, table surface, home construction, satellite dish install
- photography e.g. camera on a tripod, photo shoot setup

Download Mission: Level from App Store

Features:
  1. Simplicity - No buttons to click which tool or mode - just launch app and use.
  2. Dual level modes - It has two modes: bubble-level and surface-level. It automatically selects the mode depending on device orientation, i.e. placed flat with the back on the table/shelf surface or held upright with its side against the surface.
  3. Numeric readout in degrees - Read the slope angle in degrees or know exactly when the surface is level at 0 degrees.
  4. Lock Button - Locks the measurement so you can conveniently note it down.
  5. Audio feedback - It beeps when you get within 5 deg, 2 deg and at 0 deg of being level. Control the volume or turn on/off the beeps using the volume control and ring/silent switches on your iPhone.

v1.2 Update now available in App Store

  • Added iPhone 5 support
  • Added "Enable Sounds" setting in the main iOS Settings screen* (Home screen -> Settings app -> Mission: Level)
*This option is more for users who always want to disable sounds in the app. If you temporarily want to turn sounds on/off, use the silent/ringer button on the iPhone.

Why didn't you add the sound option as a toggle in the app itself? That way one doesn't have to go in to the settings app to make changes. It could simply have been a button similar to the button that locks the current readings.

Good question. We felt adding a button in the app only duplicates the sound on/off function using the silent/ringer button and adds clutter to the app. We want to keep the app as clean as possible and not have all these buttons for switching things on/off or changing modes.

The "Enable Sounds" option added in the Settings screen is mainly for users who never want to have sounds in the app and always have to remember to set the silent/ringer button to silent position when using the app.
