MKV works in QT7 but not QTX

Can anyone tell me why that is? I thought they shared plugins and such

They do not share plug-ins as far as I know. Perian (if you don't already have it) may enable QTX to do what you want, but I am not sure.

QTX doesn't support plug-ins (yet).
