Apple has steered onto a different path with Steve gone, who knows when they will be released. I would guess when ML is released, after all they could benefit greatly if they had a new fresh platform to go with a fresh OS.
Well thats my opinion.

Yeah. When Steve was around Apple never sold computers with previous generation CPUs. Oh, wait.

Apple has steered onto a different path with Steve gone

I really have no idea what this point is.

First: The Product Roadmap for at least the next 3 years was laid out by Steve
Second: Steve brought Apple into the consumer electronics world, starting with the iPod. And started forming market dominant positions in them while Macs remained in the single digits.
Third: Not announcing an entirely new computer line up simultaneously is exactly what Steve would do. Things need to be spaced out.
Fourth: It's far more likely that the delay is related to a component at this point than any particular philosophy.

The drivers in my planar magnetic headphones are probably larger than the woofer on that 'external subwoofer' of that vizio.

As for new iMacs in time for mountain lion-- who knows. I'm betting no. Maybe more along the lines of fall like the '09 updates. Of course I'd be just as glad as the next person if they do come out at that time.

I was at Baltimore's Inner Harbor to check out the visiting ships for an event held there over the last week or so.

Spoke with come members of the Canadian Navy and they told me the new iMac was coming out in July.

So the Canadian Navy and the French Retailer agree that the Weinershnitzel cashier is wrong! :D

Apple Releases

Cashiers from third party stores know nothing about Apple release schedules. Actually, no one outside of Cupertino knows anything.

I don't see how this can be correct. In regard to new hardware, there must be people on the other end who know, how can store managers buy "mystery computers" or more importantly plan to get rid of soon to be outdated stock?

So July 10 when last week and nothing, if we don't hear anything with the ML launch I'm thinking no new iMac (update) until sometime in the US Fall. But like the Mac Pro 'update' I'm thinking it much come a few hours after the OS X news as they might not make a big deal about it. Just hope it's not as bad as the Mac Pro update.
