The weather is getting chilly and snow is soon on the way, lets throw some wood into the stove and get the discussion burning.

Clayton Kershaw and the Dodgers agree to a 3 year extension. Giving his drop in velocity was it worth it?

The Yankees resign Brett Gardner on a new 1 year deal.
 
Kershaw will probably not be their No. 1 starter next year. As far as placing a value on it, no MLB player is worth the exorbitant salaries these days, IMO. Three years is a bit of a risk for the team, however.
 
I think it made sense for both the dodgers and Kershaw to sign the extension. He's not as over-powering as once was but I think given his age, let him play out a few more years in Dodger blue
 
Sabathia and the Yankees reportedly agree on a 1 year $8 million deal.
 
8 million is high for any player, any sport - any CEO, etc.

It would take 80 years to earn that at 100,000 per year!

Sabathia was one of the most dependable pitchers for the Yankees last season. Plus this will be his final season.

I still don’t understand why the Indians would trade away their ace, but hey if they’re open to it.
 
Yankees acquire LHP James Paxton from the Mariners in exchange for LHP Justus Sheffield, RHP Erik Swanson and OF Dom Thompson-Williams.

A couple of things:
Home jerseys should have the team name, not the city.
I can't stand colored jerseys.
White for home and gray for away are fine.

Alternate jerseys are just a money grab. All teams need are a home and away.

o really? dont like colored jerseys, thats interesting
i dont think alt jerseys are "money grabs" just more options for the fans
 
I'm sure that teams go through multiple sets of jerseys. They always look brand new when the game starts. I wonder what happens to them? I imagine they get donated. But, having multiple different jerseys is most certainly a money grab. They're trying to entice fans to buy one, or more than one.

A lot of them are sold off at charity auctions held at the end of the season.
 
C Brian McCann returns to the Braves.

The Mariners are trying to shop Cano, spoke to the Mets and Yankees.

3B Josh Donaldson signs 1 year/$23M deal wit Braves.

Yeah.

I can't tell if he's done or not though.

He'd a goo outing and we'd get beat because of no run support.

He'd have a bad outing and we'd get beat because of no run support.

I think his motorcycle/atv wreck did more damage than anyone wants to admit.
