Hey, anyone buying MLB TV 2017? Is any difference expected from the previous years?

If you can hold out till April 4th t-mobile is giving away subscriptions for the season. Could probably get someone that has t-mobile
to apply it to your account.

(thanks for the tip)
I have Tmobile, but will that apply to MLB TV? I thought it was only for MLB at bat.

I just re-upped for the season at $112.99, not $133. However I just found out Sling TV promises to have CSNBA (regional Comcast Sports Networks) on line in April so I can watch my Giants via Sling. I'll wait, if Sling works out then I can cancel my MLB.TV subscription.

So I am finally going to do the blocker so I can get in market games. My question is, does this affect my iTunes that i buy? Can I still access my library if they think I am in a different country or state? Not sure how these blockers work exactly.

looking into this one: https://www.expressvpn.com or https://unlocator.com/?location=us

It won't affect your iTunes account, I'm in Thailand using my USA iTunes account and a similar unblocker (Getflix), my purchases and U.S. apps all are available and work just fine.

My advice is to get Yonder.tv, which is a smartDNS service. It's only $3/month, which is the least expensive smartDNS that supports mlb.tv that I am aware of.

It works well to get around the blackout restriction without sacrificing speed or connectivity at all. It doesn't interfere with any other apps either, so HBO and Netflix and such continue to work just fine.

Best of all, setup just requires activating your account on their website and then typing in their DNS addresses into the Apple TV settings. That's it! It needs to be reactivated every time you home IP changes, but for me that happens very rarely.

In my opinion, VPN is overkill if all you want is to get around the blackout restrictions.

I second the recommendation for Adfreetime. I use it exclusively for MLB with my Apple TV 3rd gen and a few other devices, and am quite happy it.

I have a question for Apple TV 4 users. Does the MLB app allow you to switch audio streams, like you can do when using the mlb.tv website? For example, during last night's Cubs-Cardinals game, you could choose between four audio streams - ESPN, ESPN (?) Spanish, just the ballpark sounds, or the Cardinals radio broadcast - all synced to the ESPN video.

I really like this feature but it's not available on the 3rd gen aTV.

For those of you guys getting around the regional blackouts, is there a way to do this on an iOS device? Ideally I'd like to watch on both my Apple TVs and my iPads/iPhones if possible.

Anyone having issues with the MLB.tv app for tvOS. Mine refuses to launch, even after a reboot. I'd rather not delete and reinstall...

I had similar issue a while back. It would launch for a few seconds and then close. I think I finally deleted it and reinstalled. Is your software up to date? You might try that first.

Deleted and reinstalled MLB.tv app, now it works. Still annoying. I expect this kind of instability from Android, but not Apple. C'mon!

The app is not good, at least for me. Sometimes it looks great, other times it looks like its stuck in a buffering state almost, really low res. Every game seems to be different. You would think that by now they would have this all figured out. Anyone else having the same issues?
