Just cut the cord and was going to go the route of MLB.TV using unblockus to mask my location for blackout avoidance. Has anyone ran into recent problems with this setup? I am reading that MLB is using billing info in addition to IP location for blackouts.

Is this true? Anyone ran into this issue?

I am curious about this as well. I used it for all of 2014 without issue, but if MLB changed their policy, I'd like to see how it is now.

Are Spring Training games blacked out as well?

I didn't have an issue with spring training games over the weekend.

Any feedback out there for the original question? Does anyone have knowledge of having MLB verifying through ISP AND billing address?

I live in Cincinnati and have been able to see the Reds Spring Training games so far. I got MLB tv more to watch Texas play since I lived there most of my life but getting to see the local team, even if spring training has been nice.

Spring Training

Spring Training games are never blacked out, only regular season.

Curious to see if this approach works so I can watch the Seattle Mariners here in PDX (no cable, no antenna, no desire to get either).

we'll have to wait and see when the season starts. I wouldnt think they would block out by billing address since they used to use the perk of "watch your home team when you're in a different city on business or vacation".

Seattle is my 'home' team as well even though it is a 701 mile drive from my driveway to Safeco Field. I'm closer to Denver!

hmm..

I've heard rumors of these blackout restrictions being lifted one day.

701 miles is ridiculous. I sorta understand 150-ish miles here in PDX.

Keep in mind, Unblockus does not support MLB.TV on iPhone or iPad. It may or may not work on those devices. It worked fine last year on my Apple TV and in the Safari browser on my Mac. However, I had issues on my iPad. I ended up going with a VPN instead.

for mlb.tv to work with all feeds on the iphone, you need to jailbreak it and use a location faker app like LocationHolic
