MM calendar won't sync w/iPhone but will w/iPad

I am on a PC, I don't have a MAC computer. When I go to the MobileMe calendar on the web either through Windows Explorer or Safari and login to MM and put an entry into the calendar, it syncs OTA almost instantly to my iPad but not my iPhone. Why is that? My iPhone is running the latest software 4.x and the iPad is running 3.x so I don't get it. Is there something I'm supposed to do to the iPhone? I didn't have to do a thing to the iPad. 😕
