MMS AT&T Launch Imminent? [Updated: No]

4th of July??

Has any one heard from an ATT rep or something an exact date they plan to roll it out?
MMS would make a great 4th of July present for their faithful, albeit somewhat annoyed, ATT customers!

I wonder what Michael Jackson would have looked like if he had grown up normally.

Did you use the benm.at hack? I was too scared to try that one because people were having their phones lock up and VV disappear. They said you can fix VV by changing the settings on the iPhone itself but some people's settings page were missing (unless they just needed to reboot to do it). I really don't want to screw up my 3GS because it is running perfectly, aside from the obvious lack of MMS.
 
I would try the hack, but I don't know anyone else with AT&T :(

I did the hack though and get the MMS icon, but it fails every time.

AT&T needs to step it up dammit.

If u have the right plan u shouldn't have a problem. VV is the only thing holding mms back.

I'm pretty sure he used the benm.at hack that I mentioned above. You have to swap sim cards and change phone text plans though. Usually it disables VV. Some people say you can change the settings but I don't have the settings screen they are talking about, and many other people didn't either, which is supposed to enable VV again. Some other people claim that their iPhones got screwed up later...bricking out on the ALSOD.

Honestly I'm happy to have tethering for now. MMS can wait...I'm really excited about getting it, but not if it screws up my $500 phone.

If people would look in the top right corner you would see a % next to the battery.. That means he is running jailbreak and not a normal iPhone... It has nothing to do with hacked carrier files..
 
This is with AT&T 5.0, and I've noticed that the MMS with pics seems to work only with 4-5 bars and while on 3G at present. WiFi and Edge with 1-2 bars doesn't cut it at this point. Something to do with Cellular Data Network needing 3G and full bars to send and receive MMS. Website: help.benm.at/usa.php :eek::eek::eek:

But as we already know, you can't use this hack unless you get AT&T to take out the "mms opt out" :mad:
