hmm idk that doesnt' seem right. did u have unlimited. well anyway att has it on its website and in stores.

I've had unlimited text for a long time, before my iPhone and it always included MMS (of any sort) as long as it was sent AS an SMS and not email.

With our Treo's (wife still uses hers) we would send MMS's all the time. That didn't change when I got the iPhone since the unlimited SMS/MMS is a PLAN feature not a device feature.

I guess one could say data plans are device features since you need a seperate one per phone.

Our unlimited is a family unlimited (extra 30 bucks) and covers up to 5 phones each with unlimited text, multimedia texting.

^ mine was the same before the iPhone pic messaging is MMS. idk why people are confusing that.

When I talked to a rep she said the only way you'd get extra charges is if you don't have some sort of data plan. MMS are essentially a basic text message with a data attachment.

Since most of you have data plans I wouldn't worry about anything.

well this is untrue, the iphone doesnt have an mms messaging plan so if you are on a strictly iphone plan then you will be charged 0.30 for each mms message, no matter what plan you have selected, this might not be true for a family messaging plan however since it has to be enabled on all phones in the family plan. Im just letting people who are on an iphone plan that simply change there plan from iphone text messaging to messaging plan will still be charged per mms message, I have gotten bills lately with those extra charges. It usually comes to about 10 dollars since i mainly use email so to me its worth it.

Exactly, i have swirly MMS activated and working on AT&T in the US and i get charged for every picture message i send and recieve. Try to argue with an AT&T rep and see where it gets you. Im not saying that they wont change things after the iPhone is officially able to send/receive picture messages, im just telling you how it is now.

Not to worry most of you...but if you have an online account with AT&T, you should log in and check for yourself. Once you sign in and your at your account overview, go to where it says "Rate Plan"(to the right), and click "view details". Next scroll down to the bottom where it says "ADDED FEATURES". It should show: Data Plan for iPhone 3G....$30. Below that, it should show: iPhone Text Messaging....$5, $15, or $20(depending on which one you have). Notice that it says "TEXT MESSAGING" not just MESSAGING. Click on manage features and go down to where it say "Messaging". Click on one of the choices and a box should pop up explaining the details of that messaging plan. It clearly says:

"You’ve got unlimited data for your iPhone, why not get unlimited SMS messaging? With iPhone Text Messaging Unlimited, you never have to worry about sending or receiving a text message again. Send as many as you want, to as many friends and family as you want, as often as you want."

It clearly only mentions Text Messaging(SMS), not MMS.

Probably because the iPhone is currently incapable of sending or receiving MMS, and it wouldn't be very smart to advertise something a device cannot do. But seriously people try to read this a couple times:

Right now AT&T's unlimited messge plan includes MMS.

Ok, now read it again. Thanks!

I happen to know exactly what will happen

ATT will drop the price of the iPhone plan by 10.00 a month, and then offer MMS for the iPhone for 10.00 a month. :D:D:D
