MMS works on a fresh restore, not on a backup

Hey guys, I've been trying to figure this out but to my dismay I can't, so i thought I would ask the forum. My iPhone 3G and iPhone 4 cannot send MMS messages when I have my backup installed on them, but they can with no problem when I haven't backed them up (on a fresh phone essentially). How can I fix this so MMS will work but I can keep my app data, messages, preferences etc. Thanks 🙂
