mobil signal damaging?

can the cellular transmissions from my phone effect or damage my laptop by it being close or next to it? I was told that cell phones could kill monitors after extended exposure. how true is all this?

lol. ok so i'm good then. i remember seeing what my moto razr did to one of my CRT monitors (made distortions on the screen when calls came in), so i wasn't sure if my new smart phone (which seems to act as a antenna for a small town) would do any thing 😀
