iPhone 16 Pro Mobile Hotspot via iPhone 16 Pro with Xfinity Unlimited plan

Should my mobile hotspot work as an alternative if Wifi goes out for my Macbook? I don't need to download video, but do fairly intensive work on the web. Thanks for any responses.

I used to have two Internet providers at home (DSL+Cable) for redundancy reasons, since I work from home. But for several years now I use mobile hotspot as my “secondary” service in case of an outage; the few times I’ve needed it, it’s worked fine.

Of course you need a good signal at home (which I have) and the bandwidth & plan need to support your requirements.

It’s a dirt-simple thing to test, though. Connect to the hotspot and try working solely from that for a day.

Thank you. I'm in a similar position to yours: just planning for a backup. My signal is generally good with Xfinity, it's on the Verizon network. What network and phone did you have, if you could share that please?
