So I was surprised when Mobile Me didn't push Mail Accounts like it does say on my iPhone.

Anybody get this to work with Mobile Me?

I think so because calendar etc pushes fine as does boxcar notifications which I use as well.

Is it Wifi-only model? Everyone on this forum tells me that iPod Touch and Wifi-only iPad can push, but Apple employees tell me that push notifications require a cellular network so only work on iPhone and iPad 3G models. I've got 99% of the internet telling me one thing, and Apple telling me another.

It all stemmed from when I thought it would be great if Mail on OSX pushed my email, rather than just doing an automatic check every few minutes. I was informed by Apple that the NOBODY can create a mail client on the desktop that uses Push technology since mail is receive through the internet and not a cellular network.

It's been pissing me off for about a year now, and I still can't find anyone who actually agrees with the Apple staff. Anyway, if it turned out that what they told me is true, that might explain it if you are using a Wifi-only model. But on the other hand, the 99% of the internet who are adamant that Wifi-only can get Push might want to disagree.

If that's the case, please help this person out with their MobileMe issues, and then please make me a desktop Mail client that uses Push Notifications. Thanks. :D

My iPad gets the email notice/sound slightly before my iPhone does. MobileMe has been working great with Push enabled.

    Edit* WiFi only model iPad.

    Let me clarify.

I'm talking about pushing the EMail Accounts known to Mail.app on the desktop to the iPad. I'm not talking about pushing the actual mail. So if I add a new account on my Desktop. I automatically want MobileMe to send those Account Details to the ipad so that the account is already setup in it's Mail client.

That's what didn't work for me.

It doesn't do that. Never did. But syncing with iTunes will add your accounts to the iPad.

I can't say I've ever had an Apple employee tell me this.
The wifi devices the the iPod touch and the iPad most certainly do receive push email & notifications (when in range of an authenticated wifi network that is).

I believe that's how Mail Account syncing works on the iPhone correct? So why is it wrong to expect it to work on the iPad?

Not correct. Doesn't do it on the iPhone/iPod, either. iTunes is responsible for the auto-email config, not MobileMe.
