So you're saying it wouldn't be an iPod. Something brand new or an iPod derivative? I guess questions could be
1. Is the iPod processor capable of decoding quicktime, and
2. How easy is video out capability? RGB for 1024 resolution too...

Even then, how many people would want to play their pictures on their TV?

well, not pictures, but movies definitely.. but I don't really think this is a thing iPod should be cabable of.

it's not a computer we're talking about it's a peripheral/accessories/portable device.

does not require a video card. requires either a dedicated chip OR an über-powerful portable chip (read ARM) with software powering it. first one is much much much more likely. iPod has no such chip. iPod has a relatively weak ARM chip.
