MobileMe Family pack member to be master

Hi all,

I am currently using MobileMe as family member with my friend's family pack, question is if my friend ever decide not to renew his MobileMe, can I become a individual account myself?

I know you can transfer from individual to family, so I don't see why you can't do it the other way around; however you should know when it would expire because if it does and your friend doesn't renew, you lose everything.
