So I just downloaded Google Chrome, Google's new browser, and the me.com web interface seems to run a lot smoother and quicker on it! Just thought I'd share, considering my personal experiences with me.com on Firefox and Safari have been sluggish at best.

Edit: I just remembered that Google Chrome is only available for Windows :(

i was going to post a thread about that too, but i saw yours and didn't.

i installed google chrome on my windows machine since it isn't out for mac yet, and i must say that it runs MobileMe very well. When logging in to the me.com website, there are no messages saying that Google Chrome isn't compatible. The preference panes work well, unlike in IE, and uploading works fine (i can't upload to idisk very well with IE). Finally, the pages load pretty fast. Very impressive.

I think Google has a good start with Chrome.

Does your (MobileMe) photo gallery work in Chrome? I just get the spinning graphic.

I'm not sure what you are wanting screenshots of, so here is one of the MobileMe login on Chrome, one of the webmail interface, and one of the Chrome download page. Any of these what you were hoping for?

No, actually, I just noticed that. It works when I'm in the gallery from MobileMe, as if I'm editing or uploading, but I get the spinning wheel when viewing it as others would view it.

Right. I hope they fix that at least for the Mac version. But other than that, I'm loving the browser so far.

It does seem a little snappier on my business-issued Dell (running Vista) than on Firefox. What does seem snappier is the graphics and loading the gallery in particular.

Hey thanks, that's very cool. I don't want to install it at work and I'm sure I won't find any screenshots of chrome using me.com anywhere else.

Ever since I signed up for me.com I use it a lot at work. Looks very nice.

In a sense Google is right, web browsers are software platforms and me.com proves this nicely under chrome. I am still partial to running me.com in safari for windows (only when having to use a pc)

Saving MobileMe as an Application shourtcut with Google Chrome is actually pretty useful. Now the MobileMe interface looks like it is completely it's own program and not running in a web browser

Thats right, Chrome uses the WebKit rendering engine so layout performance should be similar to Safari. However, Chrome also has a completely new Javascript engine called V8. So, sites that rely heavily on scripting (such as me.com) should show some significant performance boosts.
