MobileMe messing up my contacts when merging

I subscribed yesterday, to have my Macbook, Mac Mini and Iphone synced, just to find out that the software merged also contacts that had nothing to do with each other.... i.e. the contact details for "Paul White" has been merged with the contact details for "Paul" who has nothing to do with the other person... HELP PLEASE!!! 😡
