I really haven't heard anyone mention this but it seems to make the most sense for a free version of MobileMe. If Apple is going to be doing battle with Google I think we maybe seeing more "free" product then we think. All of Google's goodness has ads (even if mentally blocked out): gmail, docs, etc.... Apple's stuff is all pay with no ads but is really lacking user base (not enough cash cycling through). At WWDC iAds was brought up to developers with iOS (devices that benefit from the cloud) and the amount that Apple gets to keep is a good chunk.
To sum it up, ad supported MobileMe with cloud based iTunes integration (LaLa streaming only) or a payed subscription with no ads with streaming and playlists you can play offline.
Thoughts?
