Is it possible to use the MobileMe trial, and then in 60 days use MobileMe bought from amazon continue using the service for a year?

Its a saving of £20

Reason I ask is because, I dont like the idea of putting in my card details for the free trial, and being then stuck with paying the top price directly to apple.

Cheers for responses :)

Yes, that is similar to what I did.

I signed up for the trial, and then bought it off ebay. I had the seller just email me the code.

You can then log in to the moblie me site and under billing info there is a button to apply an activation key.

Cheers

I just renewed my MM account with an Amazon purchased retail kit. Works fine, saved $30 in the process. :)

The codes all work identically - it doesn't matter what box you buy from amazon (unless you get the family pack of course).

The version number they reference simply refers to the box and packaging differences. The codes are all valid.

More questions on codes

How long as codes valid?

If I buy an amazon code now on my yearly subscription, can I just add the code this summer when it expires?

And when you add codes, are they additive to the current subscription ? (ie, my actual subscription runs out in August 2010, if I add a 1 year code now, will it automatically push my expiration to August 2011?)

thanks

The codes do not expire. Just add it now and your membership will auto renew with the code when the time comes up.

Bought mine on EBAY. I received the shrink wrapped box just as if i bought it in the store. Code inside. Just entered the code online.

Family pack $149 retail and I paid $91.

I would be leary of just getting the code emailed as you have already paid and if the code is not real.

So just to clairfy?

My mobile me family pack expires July 2010. If I buy from amazon (it's $102 or ebay ($85 retail box). I can just put the activation code in today (March 24, and it will automatically renew in July 2010?).

It says Mobile Me 2009 Version with Amazon.com and Ebay. I guess there's no mobile me 2010 version?

That is exactly how it works. I do not know if there is a MM 2010 yet, but it does not matter. You are just buying a box with a code in it and the 2009, or earlier for that matter, will work.

Thanks, I will go ahead and buy that $85 family pack from ebay.

I like the "find my iphone" feature of mobile me. I can cyberstalk my wife if she's out shopping and spending too much money while I'm at work. J/K

Actually I like to share large files and uploading to mobile me is very convenient.

I know you are kidding, but it is actually useful for this. I use it to see if my wife has left the beauty shop yet so I can fire up the grill for dinner. :D
