Mobility Rage information

Just wondering if the Powerbook g4 video chip (Rage Mobility 128) can handle less than 256 grays? More so 4 grays and B&W? There are a handful of games for classic that i would like to play but everything i have can not handle that low of a color depth.

Yes, the trick is getting the system to do that. OS X cannot do greyscale. OS 9 can, but I'm not sure if it will do 4 bit. It's a limitation of the OS, not the GPU.
