Carrier Modem Differences?

For my 6+ and 7+ I always waited for the Qualcomm unlocked version.
I’m on AT&T.
For the X I went with the at&t version with the intel modem.
Honestly in nyc I can’t tell the difference. I’m surprised. Is anyone else seeing the same thing?
