Anyone have rainbow-looking graphics and textures when playing modern warfare with the 5500m? I tried downloading the AMD graphics drivers/software from April 2020 on the AMD site and it does not recognize my hardware. Any ideas? Thanks

you mean my driver's are up-to-date?

Apple's drivers are not optimized or as up-to-date as AMD's... but you can't install the official AMD drivers.

Luckily someone does the work of modifying the official drivers to work on Macs. Head on over to bootcampdrivers.com and download the April 2020 Blue drivers for your 5500M, watch the youtube instruction video, and give it a try -- it will greatly improve your experience gaming in bootcamp.

thanks. Kind of skeptical about this site ha

Understandable. You can always try it out and kill/reset boot camp if suspicious. I find the 5300m in my MacBook Pro starts off well but drops speed over time. Seems to be a common issue with this generation of Radeon cards (not just Apples variants too).

The problem with those official drivers are that they are dated from November and Apple rarely updates them. Also full screen games for some reason don't use the full screen -- you get a little window in the corner unless it is a game you can pay at native resolution with decent frame rates.

The bootcampdrivers.com version are updated each time AMD releases new Radeon drivers, most recently last week. They also specifically fix some issues with Modern Warfare.

I've actually had some strange issues with the April Red drivers from bootcampdrivers.com. Games crashing, or black screens. I had to roll back to the January Red drivers, which seem to work just fine.

Yeah I didn’t have that problem but I did have low clock speeds after a few minutes of use. I found a decent solution was to install only the driver via device manager in Windows and no Radeon software.
