Moisture coming from iMac fan

Hi there, new member here. Im having some difficulty figuring out why there seems to be moisture around the fan on my 21.5" 2012 iMac. I definitely haven't spilled any liquid near it. I've attached a pic. Any ideas?

Do you have a lot of moisture in the air/room? Maybe the fan sucks up the surrounding moisture and when it cools it turns back to liquid. A bit like an iCloud!..... I'll get my coat......

Thanks for the reply. The only thing i can think of is the occasional vape clouds in my room, could this cause some damage? ive read that excessive vaping can cause electronics to fail.. hmm.

😱 That looks pretty excessive to me. I can say that even in the most humid conditions this summer, my iMac has not had anything close to moisture.

All I can say, if its that moist on the outside, it how much moisture is on the inside

Haven't heard anything about vaping and electronics, but maybe?

Nope, the room and everything else in it is dry, i dont live in a particularly humid country either.

Could it be that the stand is cold - hot air coming from the fans are blowing onto the cold surface of the stand and causing condensation - like you get on a cold window for example? So maybe no moisture is coming from the inside of the machine, rather its forming on the stand outside?
Just a guess.....

What kind of room is the imac in? Is it possibly located near an old or unused chimney breast or stack?

It's not an over-excited pet is it?

Its in a bedroom, no chimneys in this house. the room isnt particularly cold either.

That is a lot of moisture - definitely looks like condensation.

I'd get a dehumidifier in that room ASAP.

Ah, okay. We did have unexplained moisture puddles in a bedroom a few years ago, and it turned out to be this.

Doesn't look like you're affected though.
