Unlike iOS 12 which focused heavily on rendering the GUI more fluid, and largely succeeded in doing so, I just discovered after using 10.14 for a couple of hours that it still contains the same annoying jitteriness as HS and every other OS that came before it. Such a shame, this would have been a great opportunity to set the record straight but I guess the eye candy was once again too tempting to put aside.

Apple seems not being able to fix this for whatever reasons. Nothing Mojave related really.

Not sure if it's anything Metal related or GPU.

But certain UI sluggishness seems to happen even when on discrete GPU and no matter how powerful it is. Mostly when resizing certain apps and the way they display content.

I'm sure they're aware of it but for now just not able to fix it.

In my case, this mainly happens when shrinking the window into mission control but it happens the first time I invoke mission control after not having used it for a while. Every other time following the first time, it is buttery smooth, which means that it is probably something else than the GPU.

macOS UI just like iOS renders the blur in real time, which taxes the GPU a lot, we would only be able to have a completely smooth experience with a high end desktop GPU since it’s rendering high resolution blurs in real time that tax the GPU a lot.

for me they have finally fixed all jitter and slowness.. first time since got 2012 retina macbook that my computer feels fluid (now on the 2016 retina model 15 inch)

Ditto here... It is the first .0 release I have jumped upon since Snow Leopard. I am quite chuffed actually, especially since HS was just a buggy bag of D* for me. :(
