I've now given up and completely disabled sleep. Sleep + egpu = guaranteed freeze

I've not had a crash with 10.14.1 either......fingers crossed.

Unfortunately I have. Just now when awakening from sleep and every few days since installing Mojave.
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014) 2.5MHz Core i7, 16GB DDR3, 500GB SSD
Never had a problem before Mojave.

I was doing some more reading with this last night... and I think I've found the cause (with eGPUs anyway) - FileVault.

I read online that the eGPU "hack" which was quite common had issues with FileVault, so... clean install with no FileVault and what do you know... no crashes!

In my case it wakes after clicking the mouse several times and several keyboard strokes. There definetely is a problem.

First night running Mojave and woke up this morning to find the machine had crashed overnight. First time every on my 2017 Mac. PCIe error....sent report to Apple but a rollback may be in order if it keeps this performance up.

Happening to me too. Appears to happen at low battery and when I plug in power before I try to wake the machine. 5 times and counting now!

Mail completely locked up and froze my iMac 2015 forcing a hard restart. Was using MailDrop to send 1.5 GB file with my iCloud address. Thing just froze. Clock and all. Left it alone for 20 min still froze so I had to hard reboot.

I sympathize with everyone that is having problems with Mojave. I am still on El Capitan. I think I will stay on El Cap until it is time for me to get a brand new computer some years from now......
