Mojave, iTunes - mp3 file problem

I have some mp3 files which will not load into my iTunes library.

The files play fine in Finder and VLC player. But I cannot get them into iTunes to synch to my iPhone, iPad, or iPod. When I drag and drop, they don't appear in my iTunes library and cannot be found when I search the library. When I go through the Add to Library routine, they don't appear in my iTunes library and cannot be found when I search the library.

Very weird.

Sorry. Maybe Im being useless. But I cannot find this "Automatically Add to Music" folder. Where is it?

It should be in Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/

you can always press "command-O" to import albums as well.

i have a question, is iTunes 2021 is now loss-ness, spatial, umm not watered down?
were the music is pure?
i have not been using iTunes since 2108.
