Hi all,

I would really appreciate if people with mid 2012 retina macbook pro 15 inch (2.3 i7 8gb ram) could give me a heads up as to how this machine performs with Mojave.

I currently use Sierra and the machine feels very smooth and snappy and the battery life is kinda nice too.

But I salivate over the new dark mode as well as some other features of Mojave and I am tempted to install it.

I would really like to know how smooth the overall UI is on Mojave on my machine as well as how fast/snappy e verything feels. Should I expect any kinds of slowdowns and lag in ui animations?

Thanks a lot!

all good here - also a samsung 500g SSD had High Sierra before - Mojave performs just as good as HS (maybe better) and cooler features like dark mode, voice memos and icloud seems better for syncing files.

was not a fan of HS - am a big fan of Mojave - best OS in years

Thanks for the responses so far.

Would love it if more people with the same computer can offer their feedback. I am inclined to proceed to install but I want to hear if there are any complaints. I really love myself a smooth User Interface without lag in animations.

I've got a late 2013 15"rMBP and Mojave runs great on it. Should do fine on your 2012.

I ended up upgrading! Everything looks good so far. Animations are great if not better than Sierra and everything feels snappy. Just the boot time is almost double what it was.
