Momentus XT firmware update through Parallels

Will updating that firmware bring me trouble if I do it through Parallels?

I burned a bootable cd, then booted into windows and ran disk, everything went smoothly....

I'm not sure it will work, because you'll need direct access to the hardware and parallels does is not able to provide direct access.

You'll need to boot into windows as opposed to doing it within parallels.

Why do you want to update using parallels? If your on a mac and need to update your Momentus XT you can download the image for mac on the segate website. I updated my Momentus XT firmware a few weeks ago.
