Apparently the steward that opened his mouth regarding the decision to penalise Schumacher was... wait for it... Spanish.

And just out of interest... as I've not read any of the papers today, but I presume that the cheating Gerrard is getting the same kind of flack as Schumacher did by the UK press???

I saw that yesterday and thought this was going to get interesting. Sure enough I saw a snippet from Willi Weber responding to Verdegay's 'bias' today.

Bias or not I wonder how much of this is the media stoken the flames?

Is this thread still going?

I'm guessing the Spanish steward was xenophobic too!

Had I have started it, it would've gotten about 3 replies... because seemingly I'm on a lot of peoples ignore list. :(

Nah... just good old fashioned favourtism. ;) :p

Though personally I'm sure it had nothing to do with Alosno being a fellow countryman, but I think it's an interesting point to make... now imagine the uproar had the steward been Italian or German and it was the other way around and Alonso had been demoted. ;) :p

You mean people disagree with you about things?
Pfft... Xenophobes!

Imagine the uproar if the steward hadn't been British and it had been Button who was demoted!

Considering how poorly Button has been performing recently... I don't think anyone would've noticed if he was demoted heheh.

McLaren in '07, I don't know? With Newey leaving McLaren may be a bit lost? Could be their problem now, at least in part?

They naturally want to let us understand that losing Adrian was not so big a deal; however, we can clearly see the results. That said, McLaren has lately has a bad habit of having a bad year after a good one (2006 disaster after competitive 2005 season, 2004 disaster after competitive 2003 season) so if that trend continues, Alonso might have a winner next year. Hopefully not ;)

The question is, who will rise to the occasion for Renault?

Heikki Kovalainen. Ask Flavio ;)

Probably the same as when you were last here... ;)

Many think Tombazis was a bigger loss to McLaren than Newey was... it won't effect Raikkonen though, he'll be in a Tombazis car next season. ;) :D

 That bad is it?

It doesn't change to me... I'm a frequent visitor as my mum and brother live there.

Highfield Road's been demolished though.

I'm originally from Cov.

It's been demolished? Shame they've built a new place really.;)

Yep... in its place they're squeezing in 10,000 luxury flats, in a crap area, which nobody in the city will be able to afford.

just to point out the head steward does go from race to race to make sure that there is continuity and schumacer has always been a cheat he should`ve been kicked out of f1 years ago and stripped of his title for raming damon hill. also he ruins the sport there is no doubt he is a very good driver but he will never be great i have no respect for the man and his cheating ways

I haven't been scouring the net but has Schu been moaning about this as much as the article makes it sound?

"I also agree with the governing body of the sport the FIA that if Schumacher continues to rail against the stewards' decision, he could then be guilty of bringing the sport into disrepute. He took the punishment."

The few things I've read since the race sound as if he's been wanting to move on. The press on the other hand...

Hope this doesn't over shadow Silverstone?

BTW, I think the best Schumacher vs. Schumacher incident had to be when Ralf tried to park his Jordan on top of Michael's Ferrari.
