Anyone get lucky at a store that showed no stock on the availability indicator last night?

The Willowbend store in Plano, TX showed that there was availability for all iPhones, but had no black 16gb ones when I showed up. I was 4th in line.

Santa Rosa, Ca - Just called and they sold the last one while I was on the phone. Personally I don't think they've gotten a single shipment since the first one because once they sold out of Black 16s they never had more, and same goes for the White 16s, and now they're out of the 8s too.

Now I just have to hope for a late afternoon shipment or hope they get some in tomorrow morning. stupid iPhone hype.... screwed me over.

iPhone 3G at Apple Store... Lines are very short in UTC

I went yesturdeay (Sunday 7/13?08) to Local Apple store in San Diego, CA. (UTC Mall) and i stood in line for 45 minutes. Got there at 8:50 am and they open the doors at 9:00 am (for iPhone shoppers, all other shoppers had to wait 'til 11:00 am opening time). I was in by 9:35 and out with phones by 10:00 am.

p.s. when i called the night before (Saturday) they told me opening time was at 11:00 am... Apple Store are not telling people of early/late open hours, length of line, stock available when you call them for info, but they have more than enough phones. don't go to AT&T store and have yours shipped; i upgraded a 1st Gen. iPhone and added another line in about 25 minutes.

GOOD LUCK!!!

Oh! By the way, anyone knows who can UNLOCK, both, 1st Gen. iPhone with 2.0 Update and NEW iPhone 3G??? i previously bought services from unlock-iPhone-OTB.com (which is the same guy as iPhoneinfused.com), but doesn't have update yet and i had YouTube problems with my 1.1.4...... so please reply to this if you have UNLOCKING info.

any word on how 5th avenue, soho, and 14th st apple stores were today?

i avoided the weekend rush and was thinking about going this wed.

but if it's still a long wait, i'd be willing to go the following week.

I was just at the Columbia Mall Apple Store in MD because I called and they said they got some in. When I got there the line was about 40 people and they ran out after about 10-20 people got theirs. I guess it was a VERY SMALL shipment. Sucks! They said that they won't be getting any more shipments today. I then called the Towson store as well as Tysons Corner, both of which said they have NONE and that they won't be getting any shipments today. This is SO screwed up, why can't they give all the Apple stores enough stock to last!?!?!?

i called columbia @ 11am, they said come on in.

I drove the 45min drive from westminster, and none @ 1pm. I was a little too late i guess.

wish i wouldve checked this before i left!

The Bethesda Row (MD) store had no lines, but also no iPhones at 3:30. They claim to have no knowledge of when their next shipment would come in.

I passed the NYC 14th st store and there's still a line! My current contract doesn't end for another month, so I really don't care :)

What time did you get there? I'm thinking about showing up at whatever store has the 16gb black iphones about 15 minutes before...but I'm not going to invest hours into getting a phone.

One of my friends went to the 14th Street Apple Store at 9 this morning, it took him 4 hours to get his iPhone.

I was at Southlake before 10:00 (their normal opening) and they had been open at 9:00. They had shown all three available last night. They couldn't have had many black 8g or 16g as no more than 20 people could have left with phones before I got there, and as of 9:50 am only white. They did receive both black 8g and 16g while I waited, but I believe the shipments were small, as they were polling customers on what they wanted. The people behind me arrived just before 10:00 and they had already been to Willowbend this morning! By the time I left the line was at least 80 people. I don't think the D/FW stores are going to catch up until the end of the week at the earliest. The staff at SL seemed very suprised by the number of people and had to call in extra staff.

Apple store in Houston's Galleria had 8gb and white 16's. 4 hour wait at 10AM. Had been open an hour or so. Guy told me they had plenty of stock.

The security guard nazis in this mall refused to let people sit down. Seriously! This older woman had her own small lawn chair. She could have the chair, but she wasn't allowed to sit in it. They just about kicked her out. I know this is a high class mall, but c'mon.

From a post of mine in the Vegas thread:

Called TS earlier, 3-4 hour wait + no 16GB. AT&T on W Lake Mead had a DHL truck in front of it and they already've received a shipment today... he says no iPhones (I called when I got home), but I've read that they can only sell iPhones the day after they get their shipment. Any thoughts?

Lovely. I'll be hitting up Northpark or Knox St tmrw morning. Knox is across from Starbucks so I'll go there about 715, grab a coffee, and see what the line does. If it piles before they open then I'll get in line...otherwise I'll just pick it up this weekend or next week sometime. Just want to get it before my bill cycles on the 28th.

Vista & San Marcos AT&T

I checked with both the Vista and San Marcos, CA AT&T stores (just before 12:00) and they were all out of iPhones. The Vista store eluded to maybe an afternoon shipment.

From what I saw last night on the availabity page, only Montgomery mall has stock, but are sold out of 16 GB black models.

I that availability page is crap. I saw that too, so I went to Montgomery Mall this morning at 9. The people in front of me said that the store had 2 phones that they sold to 2 people at 7:30 am and that they were both 16 GB. The store manager said that they had no more phones, but that they might get a shipment.

So I hung around and at 10 a UPS guy shows up with a couple boxes. Turns out they got a shipment of just 8 gigers.

Linden, NJ
LOL, I resigned myself to placing an order today at the Linden NJ AT&T store. I walked in at 10:15AM and there wasn't a single person in the store. I played around with a 3G for 20 minutes and walked up to the sales guy and said I wanted to order an 8Gig Black. He asked "why?" I said "because you don't have any". He smiled and said he just got a shipment of 8gigs in at 9:30AM before they open. As he was writing me up he got like 30 calls asking if he had any. He told everyone he got a few in but by the time they got there they would probably be gone. Within the 10 minutes it took him to write me up (and answer continuing calls asking the same question) there were almost 20 people in line. What a pleasure. No hassles due to my CORP DISCOUNT (which included free activation) and no crazy lines. I really lucked out. I had no intention of finding one nor was I going to kill my day off today to hunt one down.

Coming off a Blackberry I'm (so far) UNDERwhelmed with the email (nothing can beat a BB at email) and the battery life is horrible. Other then that it's a nice device. 30 days to decide .....

yeah BB has a keyboard so it is better for texting...but...why do people keep hating on the Iphone 3G for battery life when it is at least 5 hours for 3G...this is as good or better than anyother 3G phone...its like 10 hours on 2G for the Iphone 3G...its all about the setup of your phone.

If you are only getting like 2 hours...then your phone is defective...take it back..and I am not saying your iphone is doing that...but some peoples are.

At least you got one.

Tice's Corner NJ

called round 1130am today, out of stock. woman who answered phone was incredibly rude, granted she's been answering calls all day about it... they really should just put a recorded message on the answering machine. anybody know if there was a line there this morning?

Lenox square mall in Atlanta had about 50 people in line at 7pm. They were out of the Black 16gb, but had plenty Black 8gb and White 16gb.

I'm wondering this myself. I probably try again around Wednesday.

Not totally Bay area, but here in Sacramento, lines were 125 - 140 deep at 1pm. 15 - 20 people in the store, and they were letting one in when one would leave. Wait time in the lines was about 1 hour per person.

This is at the Apple store, that is.
