The final version must be compiled without debug code. Apple can't do that through the incremental updates. It must be installed from full installer, I think. So the build number can change.

Out of memory issue that surfaced in Beta 3 for me got worse in Beta 6. I'm seeing ten applications "paused" because my 16 gig rMBP is out of memory.

Not doing anything different than what I did in Mavericks with this particular machine.

Apple works Mavericks -> Yosemite. You work Yosemite Beta -> Yosemite GM/Beta.

Apple doesn't account for small bugs that sneak through the beta process but don't actually appear when you install Mavericks -> Yosemite. It's possible that's what is happening to you.

I remember people claiming the debug code argument as far back as 10.0. The final version of that was just as slow & buggy as the release candidate.

I wouldn't count on a magical, super-fast final release if PB6/ GM3 is running slow or malfunctioning for you.

I don't think it's ready. Very rarely and randomly my dock crashes and I get a crash insofar sometimes.
