Worth noting, if you buy your MacPro and ADC at the same time and protect your MacPro with AppleCare, the AppleCare also covers the ADC at no additional cost.

Wow! I have never heard that before, I wish I would have known that a long time ago!

It's strange that nobody is saying what is really most important in displays, especially if you do any work on your computer rather than web browsing that requires true color accuracy.

If you choose displays just by cheap price you will be getting TN panels, or the better but not the best S-PVA panels (Dell). Dell used to use S-IPS panels on the 20" ultrasharps but now dropped quality.

Apple's Cinemas are not the best pro display out there but it uses S-IPS panels that are generally considered the best overall LCD technology for image quality, color accuracy and viewing angles.

Nothing comes for free in this world and big inches at small dollars are not the exception.

Thanks for all the help guys. I think I'm going to go with the Samsung and ride it out until an update to the ACD's.

On paper the Samsung is better than the Dell, which seems on par with the 23" ACD bar pixel density.

As soon as the line is refreshed I'll ebay the Samsung and grab a new ACD :D

yeah, that's a good point, but if you're just looking for a monitor, you don't want to pay an additional $2,000 or more just to extend the warranty of the monitor :p
