Can you use Apple Thunderbolt Display (27") as a TV?

Or am I better off getting a TV and use it as a monitor?

Not interested in buying two separate units...

In theory, yes, but in reality, no. There are no cable boxes or DVD players or anything that you'd hook up to a TV that supports thunderbolt. If you mean to keep it plugged into a Mac and use it as a screen for netflix or something, then sure.

Nope, has to be connected to a mac with thunderbolt, no third party products can convert a video stream to a thunderbolt capable output as of yet.
