what is a good monitor for a late 2011 MBP. i don't want the thunderbolt display to much for me and I'm looking to spend between $100-$200. if i were to spend $1k on just a display i would get a iMac but im not looking to spend that. any thoughts please?

monitor for mbp?

I've had the same idea couple of months ago. Try HP LED monitors, or ViewSonic.
I've bought a Projector instead and it's been amazing for me.

I have a Dell u2412m, and it is amazing. It also supports displayport, so you can connect to a mac without any adapters. It is $300 though =\

I prefer HDMI monitors.
1920x1080 res is absolutely wonderful.

I use LG's E2370V-BF. 2HDMI ports so I can hook it up to my PS3 as well.

Also Dell monitors are similar to Mac displays.

serious? 1980x1080 is pretty much the bottom of the barrel these days for external monitors.
