I just got a 2nd hand Mac Mini (M1) today. No matter what I do, my monitor shows a black screen/no signal. Viewsonic XG3220. I’ve swapped cables and ports. I’ve confirmed that the monitor is working with my PC.
I plugged the Mini in to a TV and it works. Frankly I’m mystified. Any help would be appreciated

No. I don’t have that cable. If you think there’s a good chance that will work, I’ll order one

I had a similar issue. Turns out it was my HDMI cable. This one fixed it for me.

First thing I'd try:
DISCONNECT the display from the Mini.
Then, using the display's "on-screen" menus, do a factory reset.
Then, re-connect to Mini and try again.

What KIND of HDMI cable do you have?
I would try a "high-speed, HDMI 2.0" cable.

OR...
Try a USBc (Mini) to displayport (display) cable instead.

To everyone that replied: thank you very much for the help! A new Amazon Display Port/USB C cable resolved the issue. Strangely a HDMI/USB C cable wouldn’t work.
This forum is amazing! A couple of months ago I posted a question regarding my iPhone 14 and received several helpful answers quickly. Unbelievable how different this is vs the speed of response and quality of answers

Apparently all that was needed (as recommended by several posters) was a good quality, high speed HDMI cable. I purchased the one recommended above from Amazon

I prefer display port/USB-c over hdmi. DP/usb-c will give you 10 bit color vs 8 bit for hdmi. It is quite noticeble on my EIZO display.

Yup. I understand. I was just trying to list all valid options
