Hi all, happy new year !

I don’t know a lot about monitors so please forgive me if this is a simple question ;)

i have the updated LG 5K that apple sells. I also have a CalDigit TS3 plus. Still deciding if I really need it, but I use it mainly for the audio ports.

here’s my question: do I get the same quality (Refresh rate, resolution etc...) if I plug the monitor directly into the computer as I do if I plug the monitor into the CalDigit and then connect the CalDigit to the computer ?

thanks.

In theory, it's a digital signal and it's simply passed through. However, the dock might support refresh rates or resolutions that your Mac doesn't (or the other way around).

Thanks! I originally put this in the MacBook Pro forum and it was moved.... I have a MacBook Pro 2019 16 Inch .... if that makes a difference.
