I’m likely going to pull the trigger on one of the new MBP’s on Monday, and looking for an external monitor setup to go with it. I’ve had 27 inch iMacs recently but would like to go with a dual monitor or ultra wide setup this time. My main use is photo editing. I’ve used Dell Ultrasharps at work in the past and liked them. But wasn’t sure if I should consider something else. I want good/very good color and 4k resolution. I would be ok with a single utrawide as long as I can find a good program to let me snap programs to specified parts of the screen.

I would check out rtings.com's monitor reviews. They have ultrawide, MacBook Pro, gaming, etc. review categories. Harder to find 4K monitors at the top of those lists, but they're out there.

Personally I've been watching prices on the 32" LG 32UN880-B or 27" LG 27UN880-B for the quality and ports.
