My monitor will not go to sleep, i dont know why its really bothering me. any suggestions?

Go to terminal and type,

pmset -g

You'll get something like
Code:
Simons-Apple-Mac:~ Simon$ pmset -g
Active Profiles:
AC Power -1*
Currently in use:
 womp 1
 powerbutton 1
 sleep 0
 acwake 0
 autorestart 1
 ring 1
 halfdim 1
 reduce 0
 disksleep 60
 displaysleep 10
 dps 0
displaysleep is what we are interested in. What does it say?

Does it try to go into sleep mode and wake up? If this is happening you might want to disconnect all things connected to the machine and try putting it to sleep...ipod is famous for waking up the machine..like a child that don't want to go to sleep.
