Hi All

After reading many threads over these forums it dawns on me that there is no such thing as a make of monitors that does not have its issues.

Dead pixels and I do not mean just the odd one here or there but patches of the horrid things, colour tint issues, back light bleed, dust inside etc etc etc.

I have had and iMac with screen issues that went back for a replacement, my 24inch ACD when it was not a year old had to go back for dirt inside the panel itself not under the glass. Now the dirt has returned in the replacement and now it has a big patch of dead pixels along the top looking like something has taken a bite out of the menu bar.

I am beginning to think that unless you are willing to spend in excess of £1000 UK pounds then you have to accept that you may not get the nice problem free monitor that you would like.

Thoughts ?

That's pretty much right on the money.

Here's a good aphorism for technology, and in fact, life in general.

You can have it cheap/fast, you can have it high quality, and you can have it reliable.

Pick two.

You get what you pay for.
