Ever since I updated my 2016 MacBook Pro, FaceTime says:

Zoom and Photo Booth do not work either.

I spoke with Apple agent yesterday. We did everything to try and fix; the agent would not give up! I even factory reset my computer, and it still doesn't work. The agent said lots of people are having problems with their internal camera ever since installing Monterey.

Has anyone figured out how to get it working?

Thanks.

I'm surprised the Apple employee admitted it was a problem, and perhaps a widespread problem at that. I'm an Apple fan, but I think they need to be more upfront about hardware/software issues. I do hope they follow through with you, and of course any other people that have this issue. Best of luck!

Isn't that a PROGRAMMED TO OBSOLESCENCE ? either you revert to older OS or buy a new Mac ? Which no MacBook owner wants ..neither revert nor replace a working lap 💻 ?

what's weird I boot up my MacBook Pro 17” (Intel i7) on a Live Ubuntu 20.04 CD (it takes some times to load) then fire up Cheese !!!! The camera send me a clear image like a mirror that I could shave myself infront of my laptop 💻!!!

even installing Bluez (Bluetoothd) I could Airplay under Linux Ubuntu.

So Apple is playing with us Mac owners.

I haven’t tried the latest Ubuntu 22. but I'm sure it will work.
