Mophie today announced the launch of the Max Charging Stand, a two-in-one charger that's designed for the USB-C AirPods Max and the AirPods or AirPods Pro.

The Max Charging Stand holds the AirPods Max upright, with a magnetic USB-C charging dongle that connects to the USB-C port in the headphones. Mophie created the stand with the magnetic dongle to ensure that the AirPods Max are aligned perfectly for charging without the user having to fuss with positioning.

There are also included magnets to ensure that the AirPods Max are put into low power mode while they're on the charger, increasing charger speed.

Along with the upright charger for the AirPods Max, there is a smaller Qi-based charging platform that can be used for AirPods or AirPods Pro that support wireless charging.

The stand is made from aluminum so it matches well with the aluminum AirPods Max, and it comes in black. There is a soft silicone cradle that keeps the AirPods Max from being scratched, and an integrated LED that lets you know when charging has started.

The Max Charging Stand can be purchased from the Mophie website for $150.

$150 for a $15 product is insane. Great idea and would be nice for ease of charging, but I can easily take 2 seconds more to plug in the charging cable myself

I have a 3D printed stand from Etsy that doesn't offer charging but keeps my headphones in sleep mode on my desk and makes them easy to grab when I need them. I'd love to get a charging stand but this price is just outrageous.

I don't have a need for this. But good to see these accessories. Some will find it useful. However the price on this is very high. Think it needs to be much cheaper.

How about creating a new head band that is lighter so some people get less headaches?

Maybe it can even fold up like the XM6?

Get one of these magnetic chargers from Amazon. Put one end in the AirPods Max like they did and the other you would need to drill out a hole from the bottom on the charging side and glue the receiver into the bottom. Would not be too hard to make this yourself. They did not do anything remotely difficult.

I presume there are magnets that were put into the 3D frame after the frame was printed. Can you see the magnets and are they removable?

(I guess you can see where this is going - I could print the frame myself and source and add the magnets after it is printed).

Adding charging wouldn't be a problem, I imagine. It'd just be a matter of having a suitable slot / hole for a usb connector and a groove for cable management.

I love all the apple fans complaining about overpriced non-apple accessories, but happily paying top dollar for apple stuff...
You are making fun of people paying good money for highly engineered quality tech products but not wanting to get bent over by the out of control accessories market, charging $150 for a charging stand for $500 headphones.

I'd be careful with these. Many versions of these get VERY hot. I bought something like this when Apple Mcs went usb-c only, as a workaround for having something like a MagSafe on my the MacBook, but I stopped using it because the heat it built up was a worry when it's almost flush with your device.

I shoved a cut-to-shape piece of memory foam into the space between the two upper bars and kept it in with a silicone "lid".

Much more comfortable now.

That is what I said. We 3D printed a stand for my iPad Air. I put a magnetic USB C charger in the iPad. Sits quite flush with the Logitech folio case on. And then the receiver for the charger goes glued into the stand. And the original apple cable plugs into that. To charge my iPad, I just place it on the stand, the magnet grabs it and charges it. Grab it when I want to use it. Super easy. Anyone could do this with the Max by using an existing etsy stand or 3D printing one themselves.
