How will the ring work through a case?

I’m surprised they did not create a case for the iPhone 11 series.

Why hasn’t Apple released a MFi program for these chargers to allow them to run at full 15w?
I like the slim form factor the vent model compared to my current solution but disappointed these things still aren’t running at full speed 8 months after the tech was introduced.

It's amazing to me to see how the new owners of mophie have reduced the product quality down to just injection-moulded textured plastic. They moved the product lines from premium materials and charging innovations down to a level that's too expensive to compete on Amazon for what little they offer. It's no wonder the company was sold to private bank this January due to its debts from poor sales.

Do any of them charge at 15W? I doubt it.

This Magsafe crap continues to be a total fail with no benefit other than a magnetic attachment in most of these 3rd party accessories, which cannot charge at 15W.

I have to admit, both $59.95 snap+ wireless charging stand and $49.95 snap+ wireless vent mount look good to me, with 15W MagSafe charging. My only quibble is Mophie's Apple-like prices, although to be fair, their design and quality are not far off from Apple's.

Likely not 15W for Apple devices since it appears to be Qi and not proper MagSafe.

this seems like a total rip off of OhSnap's products, which offers the same exact stuff at about half these prices. I hope OhSnap can do something about this.

I have used Mophie products for over 10 years and they have one of the best customer support desks that I have worked with both via email and phone. Their products are very well built and I like how you can move the battery from one phone to the other phone vs the old juice cases was limited to that phone you put it on. Like the black does not show dirt and scratches on the items.

Don’t let the description fool you. Yes 15W wireless charging is theoretically possible for Qi devices that support it. But iPhone can only charge 7.5W over Qi. These products are not true MagSafe.

Mophie's products are garbage now. I bought one of their charging cases years ago and it was awesome, lasted the life of the phone and the battery life didn't drop off too much. I bought another one two years ago and it stopped working within one month. I went through their warranty replacement process, in-person at a Zagg kiosk, and they charged me $15 for "shipping." That replacement charging case lasted almost three months and then that one stopped working too. I'm done with them.

You are right. Very sneaky. Mophie's description:

"15W wireless charging pad for Qi-enabled and MagSafe compatible devices"

But on the footnote:

"Up to 15W wireless charging for Android devices. Up to 7.5W wireless charging for iOS devices."

The website is very cagey. It says charges up to 15W*. Clearly the asterisk indicates a footnote, that perhaps say it is not actually MagSafe, but I cannot find the actual footnote. Still not clear to me if it’s actually MagSafe.

Maybe it’s not as convenient, but the combination of Belkin’s MagSafe mount and Anker’s 33W USB-C car charger is great. It charges super fast.

The car one is tempting me. I drive around a lot and this is more of a want for me but not a need, haha.

Is this actually doing true 15W Magsafe charging or not? In the video on the product pages, it shows the circular Magsafe charging indicator pop up which I'm pretty sure doesn't happen with regular Qi chargers. This is all just CGI animation, though, so it's impossible to tell if it's actually doing it. There are so many 3rd party plain Qi not-really-Magsafe chargers out there it's impossible to trust if something is actually doing it, and even the "up to 15 W" description here while talking about Android phones also leaves enough wiggle room to doubt it. Apple really needs to have some better phrasing for what counts as "Magsafe compatible" similar to MFi (made for Magsafe? if it's coming to future MacBooks, which Magsafe?). Way too hard to tell if something is compatible is just talking about the magnet mounting or if it's doing 15 W charging too.

Edit: It looks like the powerbanks that I was looking at first don't mention charging speed at all, so there's no footnote. The wired chargers that mention fast charging do have a footnote saying iOS devices are limited to 7.5W. Extremely weaselly to mix 15W android compatible charging with Magsafe in the same sentence, and their animation showing the Magsafe indicator popping up, which I thought required the same NFC negotiation to enable 15 charging, is even sketchier.

For some reason the vent mount product page has an asterisk but no footnote, but the separate wired charger and the wired stand do. The powerbanks don't make any claims about speed at all so they lack it too.
