It's amazing to me to see how the new owners of mophie have reduced the product quality down to just injection-moulded textured plastic. They moved the product lines from premium materials and charging innovations down to a level that's too expensive to compete on Amazon for what little they offer. It's no wonder the company was sold to private bank this January due to its debts from poor sales.
And their crack marketing team decided to announce this the day after WWDC when there is still a torrent of other Apple news to bury this. Seems like they’re bringing their D game.

Amazon is bad for, umm… everyone except for Amazon, and for their customers, and I feel bad every time I use them, but then I try to order somewhere else and see stuff like this:

  • “Once placed by the customer, orders made on ZAGG.com cannot be cancelled. You may return your unwanted, unused product to ZAGG pursuant to ZAGG’s return policy which may be found here.” (Lovely how the return policy is hidden behind a sneaky sneaky 404 error. Brilliant!)
  • “It is ZAGGs company policy we do not refund the sales tax amount and that it is the customers responsibility to request the refund from the state.”
  • Standard Shipping (free): 7-14 business days
Plus, I have an iPhone 12 mini. Mini is in the title of the magnetic battery pack I’m interested in, but I have no idea if this thing is going to be hanging off of the bottom. They didn’t anticipate this question? Really?

The dude in the California office running mophie product launches left for Amazon a couple months ago. The division is a skeleton crew after ZAGG ground their marketing team down to no one and tried to do their jobs. Today was probably a tentative date that no one in Utah cross-checked before hitting post.

I'll be buying a couple Belkin MagSafe stand chargers as they still look much better quality.

I'm interested in the car vent mount but there's no way that design is going to hold a phone and keep it stable. ESR looks like I would keep it in position far better.

I did notice this "Snap Adapter" on the Morphie site.

Anyone try this? Ok, from the looks of this (2 pack for 19.95) it's not a sticker. That's ok I think. The photos I see, these are being placed on the phone itself, but will it work with a non-Magsafe case?

Are the magnets strong enough?

Could always try it (a few Best Buy's near me have it - one useless 1 star review which tells me nothing), if its a fail...then I'll return it.

Well, anyway. I did try these and well...they were returned back to Best Buy within 2 hours.

*In Morphies defense, they could work with older non MagSafe phones, and placed on the naked back of them. Or perhaps inside a non MagSafe case -- after some jerry-rigging? But it was not for me.

Magnets seem to be very strong connected to the MagSafe charger - and perhaps to the point these could actually remove it from the back of a textured, even smooth backed case, even a naked iPhone / or other QI phones rear. (But not strong at all when placed inside a few 3rd party non-mag safe cases.)

Not worth it. It was a spur of the second purchase, oh well...got the $20 back.
